Australia's population is nearing 28 million, but where are all those people living?

Australia’s population growth continues to motor along, nearing 28 million according to newly released data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

From 13.1 million in 1971, the population crossed 20 million in the mid-2000s, had hit 25 million in 2018 and is now likely only a couple of years from reaching the 30 million mark.
