The exciting design for Sydney’s new fish markets can stimulate a new wave of development on the Pyrmont peninsular says the Urban Taskforce.

“The new fish markets will release land on the current market site for redevelopment and this can lead to a ripple effect across the Pyrmont peninsular.” says Urban Taskforce CEO Chris Johnson “With the Star Casino’s new building nearby and the potential for new development at Harbourside a new energy is flowing across Pyrmont. New development on the Power House site will also add to the revitalisation of Pyrmont.”

“Many of the new uses for Pyrmont will be hospitality and entertainment based and a new waterfront promenade could link the series of developments together.”

“What is now needed is a new vision for the Pyrmont peninsular that lifts it to a bustling mixed-use precinct that parallels the Sydney CBD peninsular.”

“The new fish market design is very exciting and when completed it will be a must-visit destination for Sydney residents and for tourists.”
