Niall McSweeney

Niall brings more than 35 years of construction industry experience to Altus Group, having worked in Europe and Australia in all aspects of Quantity Surveying and construction. He joined Altus Group in 1996. He is responsible for the management of the Development Advisory Asia Pacific business operations and driving its strategic direction, change and growth. Niall’s vast experience in a wide range of sectors allows for an informed method of developing budgets, estimates and appraisals of alternative uses for major developments or master plans. His exceptional knowledge and expertise have also been employed in several commercial negotiations on dispute resolution. 

Niall is respected commentator on property development and the wider construction industry. With a focus on construction costs and market risk, he understands the big-picture megatrends and microeconomic factors impacting the industry. Part futurist, part historian, Niall's unique perspective provides insight into what to expect across the industry, specilising in such sectors as build-to-rent, build-to-sell, affordable housing, highrise commercial, and infrastructure.

Niall is a member of the Altus Group Management Committee, as well as the Members Forum employer representative for the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Oceania Region and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS).
