Queensland has had the highest number of new sales over the past 12 months, according to the Housing Industry Association.
Queensland Deputy Premier Andrew Fraser says new home sales increased by 20.8 per cent, ahead of WA at 4.9 per cent and South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.
“More than 2000 Queenslanders have now lodged applications and those numbers are gaining pace from month to month,” Fraser says.
“It started off with a slow burn but confidence is improving in the housing market and the Building Boost ($10,000) is only making it easier for buyers to do what they do best.”
Fraser adds private sector investment is also strong, with the Australian Bureau of Statistics investment figures recording another high at 64 per cent for the 12 months to September.
