Recently tabled in the Legislative Assembly, the final planning variation to the Territory Plan is the first step forward in enabling the transport network to be improved, to discourage through traffic, and to encourage pedestrians, cyclists and bus routes along Hibberson Street, said Corbell.
These infrastructure changes will also assist in the long-term vision of a lively retail, commercial and entertainment uses, while maintaining the urban village character, he said.
