Caloundra South UDA moves ahead

Posted on Monday, November 14 2011 at 3:33 PM

The 2310-hectare urban development area (UDA) in Queensland’s Caloundra South will now move ahead after the Sunshine Coast Regional Council recently announced it would discontinue its Supreme Court case against the development, according to Queensland’s Minister for Local Government Paul Lucas.

The UDA is expected to accommodate up to 50,000 new residents and 20,000 new homes over the coming 30 years.

“As the State Government has previously indicated, the ratepayers of the Sunshine Coast will not be adversely affected financially by the provision of the infrastructure for the Caloundra South UDA, and Stockland must deliver its projects with this outcome in mind,” says Lucas.
