Affordable homes on the Sunshine Coast
Posted on Tuesday, November 15 2011 at 10:33 AM
The Sunshine Coast has been allocated 283 affordable homes targeted to low-income families, according to the Queensland Minister for Housing Karen Struthers.
The new homes are part of 4370 new affordable rental properties statewide, as announced in October as part of the fourth round of the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS).
“Under NRAS, the State and Federal Government provide subsidies for 10 years to private developers to build new homes and make them available at least 20 per cent below market rent,” says Struthers.
