Perth’s northeast corridor housing fast-tracked

Posted on Monday, November 22 2010 at 3:25 PM

A major housing development in Perth’s northeast corridor has been fast-tracked by three years to provide affordable housing, according to Minister for Housing Bill Marmion.

At Henley Brook, 17 kilometres northeast of the Perth CBD, 225.7 hectares will be developed into 2650 lots in a joint venture between State Government and a developer.

The first 94 lots are already under construction and were to go on sale prior to the end of 2010.

The cost savings will be passed on to homebuyers through a rebate system, says Marmion.
