Knowing what to look for

Q Where/how do you find potential subdivision properties and, when you first started subdividing, how did you educate yourself about the process?

A When looking for potential subdivision properties, I look at the size of the land and the location. I also check the zone it falls in under council and the requirements to build on that piece of land. All zones are different and you need a certain size to subdivide.

When I first started to get into property I educated myself through reading magazines, books and going online to different websites about developing, and also by going around to the local real estate agents and getting their view on things.

I also went to council and spoke to some of the town planners to see what steps were required to get a subdivision started. I also was lucky enough to have help from my parents and my peers.
