AFL ruckman Jonathan Giles knows an opportunity when he sees one and it’s a talent that’s earned him outstanding rewards on and off the football field. Once almost resigned to never getting a game of football when he was with Port Adelaide, Giles seized the chance to head east when expansion club Greater Western Sydney (GWS) joined the competition.

He had been on the Port list for four years without a senior game, playing for top South Australian side Central District and then Sturt in the local league, when opportunity knocked in 2011.

Now he shares with API the strategies he’s using to secure his long-term financial future through property investment, including a hammerhead subdivision of a block of land.
